**Job Description**:
The Manager of Decision Support & Data Quality will be an integral member of the Corporate Services team at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre. This role will focus on leading a team of professionals providing effective, comprehensive and high quality analysis of clinical and performance data for leading healthcare organizations. The manager will lead the team in:

- Creating data collection and reporting standards/practice at an organizational level,
- Completing complex clinical & performance analysis,
- Making recommendations and presentations to both clinical and non-clinical leaders & executives using evidence based practice
- Providing support to all leaders within the organization to improve utilization and understanding of clinical data

This role is part of a highly visible team with direct linkages to the organizational strategic planning process and performance measurement process. The Manager of Decision Support & Data Quality will work closely with the IT, Financial Planning, Health Information Management & Research teams to support the continued evolution of clinical data reporting, research projects and business intelligence at RVH and partner organizations.

**Education**:

- A Bachelor’s or Master’s University degree in any of the following disciplines (Health Sciences, Health Informatics, Health Policy, Epidemiology, Computer Science, Health Administration, Business

**Experience, Skills and Abilities Desired**:

- 5 to 10 years of experience working in a healthcare environment in decision support, performance, health information management roles
- 2 to 3 years of demonstrated management experience leading a group of professionals
- Experience working with clinical datasets such as (DAD, NACRS, NRS, OMHRS, IPORT)
- Advanced proficiency in clinical/performance data collection, interpretation and presentation
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Access, and Business Intelligence products
- Knowledge of International Classification of Diseases ICD-10 and the Canadian Classification of Interventions
- Knowledge of CIHI reporting and reporting standards
- Demonstrated Knowledge of Health System Funding Reform (HSFR, HBAM, QBP)
- Demonstrated expertise is quantitative and statistical analysis
- Working knowledge of MOHLTC Reporting and OHRS/MIS guidelines
- Excellent organization and time-management skills with a strong ability to multi-task in order to meet conflicting deadlines and deliverables
- Outstanding problem solving & critical thinking skills
- Tremendous communication skills both written and verbally
- Commitment to evidence based decision making
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with users regarding their information needs.
- Experience developing clinical indicator and maintaining reporting standards
- Demonstrated ability to develop and grow skills within the team and peer group
- Experience with leading process improvement (Six Sigma, Lean) within a highly complex environment is a strong asset
