Hand Transfer Press Operator

**Fivestar Mfg. Inc. is a small family-owned business here in Aurora, ON. We have been around for the past 20 years and service tier 1 automotive manufacturers throughout north America. We mainly produce steel stampings that are using in vehicle suspensions, instrument panel, body structure as well as powertrain and accessories.** **We stride ourselves in treating everything like a small family and our typical employees have been here over 5 years. We offer good health and dental benefits as well as a safe/clean work environment.** **Our business has expanded over the past three years and we are fortunate to have been awarded new business because of our good quality and delivery performance.** **We are looking for motivated individuals who want to build a career and help produce car parts in an automotive manufacturing setting.** **We are looking for someone who can work a hand transfer press, in our case Aida mechanical presses, as well as be able to lift consistently parts with the weight of around 5 lbs.** **We are offering full time positions and are willing to train the right person to become a successful part of the team, long term.** **The operators are assigned to a set of machines and will be making parts daily as per the production schedule. First time workers will be paired up with a "buddy" to provide on the job training.** **With the right spirit and hard work you will have the ability to upgrade your skills and be provided training to learn the function of different machines with the ultimate goal to be able to run, setup and debug any machine on our floor.** **Upgrading your skills and showing your dedication would allow you to move your way up to a higher paid position over time.** **Afternoon shift is from 3:30pm until 1am Monday through Thursday and 3:30pm until 8pm on Friday.** **1**: **Scope of Position** The responsibility of the production operator C / production press operator C is to follow the instructions of the production manager or afternoon shift supervisor and ensure that the assigned production requirements are completed with mínimal support. This would include review of the production schedule and be responsible to ensure the required are produce according to all instructions. Monitor and follow the company processes to ensure comprehension and standard compliance of the IATF 16949 Technical Specification, and the rules of IATF according to the certification scheme. The production operator C / production press operator C will also provide support to the company by actively monitoring daily production requirement, updating, and filling out any documents, as well as and communicating to internal persons the requirement of Fivestar. - Maintain a safe and clean working environment - Produce quality parts efficiently - Run hand transfer presses and hand transfer welders - Run automated resistance welding machine as well as rework parts with air operated air grinder if needed - Operate manual tapping machine or reaming machine if required - Operate assigned equipment safely and efficiently as per posted instructions **2**: **Key Responsibilities** 1. Always work in compliance with all legislative requirements of the Ontario Health and Safety Act. 2. Work in a safe manner and observe all plant safety rules and regulations as posted in our plant and employee manual 3. Always wear and/or use all appropriate safety equipment as posted in our plant and employee manual 4. Report any abnormalities or unsafe conditions to Supervisor 5. Follow and comply with all housekeeping requirements 6. Be willing to perform any other reasonable production request 7. When required be available to work overtime 8. Be courteous and respectful with all other people at work 9. Be willing to learn and accept training 10. Work towards advancing your position and improving the company 11. Read and understand your employee manual 12. Work in compliance with IATF 16949 standards 13. Perform and record all findings of quality assurance inspections for all assigned parts produced as per control plan inspection form # 9 14. Follow non-conforming procedures as per form # 5 when stamped parts are not to specification 15. Tag each container with an appropriate label 16. Complete production sheets, give to supervisor at end of shift 17. Maintain lot traceability, inspection, and test status, using appropriate labeling as defined in part packaging instructions 18. Operate assigned equipment such as manual hand transfer die presses and well as manual hand transfer welders **3**: **Training Requirements** **Educational Requirements**: High school secondary diploma **Minimum Experience/Field**: Minimum 1 Year as an operator in Automotive/Manufacturing environment. **Courses Required**: Understanding of Core Tools & Customer Specifics relating to Part Quality measurements using gauges and hand tools **Computer Skills**: Basic in Word, Excel, Power Point, ERP System and Outlook. **Licens
