Wedding & Social Sales Manager

The position is responsible for:
- Selling social events for the property, and achieving and exceeding the hotel sales revenue goals.
- Coordinating all social events; executes exemplary customer service to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty by assisting the customer and ensuring their satisfaction before and during their program/event.
**Duties**:
- Understands the overall market - competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them.
- Maximizes revenue by up-selling packages, room type and creative food and beverage offerings.
- Ensures successful performance by increasing revenues, controlling expenses and providing a return on investment for the owner and the business.
- Manages the sales efforts for the hotel related to local social group business.
- Responds to incoming inquiries and opportunities for the hotel.
- Uses negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.
- Designs, develops, and sells creative catered events.
- Creating BEO’s (Banquet Event Orders) and Group Resumes for each group.
- Review all BEO’s, Group Resumes, Daily Event Lists and verify all specifications.
- Attend and runs various meetings, including BEO weekly meetings and other meetings as required.
- Works collaboratively with Banquet Department, Culinary Team, Front Desk as well as other hotel departments to ensure sales efforts are coordinated, complementary and not duplicative.
- Works with Food and Beverage team to develop menus that drive sales. Establish an effective method of communication between departments to ensure all group specifications will be delivered.
- Communicates any event changes in a timely manner to the relevant operating departments.
- Interacts effectively with vendors, competitors, local community, and other hotel departments in order to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Serves the customer by understanding their needs and recommending the appropriate features and services that best meet their needs and exceed their expectations, while building a relationship and loyalty to Marriott International.
- Monitors the effective resolution of guest issues that arise as a result of the sales process by creating mechanisms to channel issues to property leadership and/or other appropriate stakeholders.
**Qualifications**:
- 2-year diploma from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major.
- 2 years of experience in the field of sales and catering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Working knowledge of 5 Star System an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
