**Position Summary**:
This role leads the organization in the development and implementation of emergency management training and exercising. It establishes internal training resources that supports FNHA readiness for emergency management activities. It develop internal exercises and represent FNHA when exercising with external partners.

**As a health and wellness organization, the First Nations Health Authority has aligned with the Provincial Public Health Order released on October 14, 2021. We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at First Nations Health Authority. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. If selected for employment, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination by providing a copy of your BC Vaccination Card Passport with the QR code.**

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for the design, development and implementation of FNHA-wide emergency management training and exercises to support internal readiness and coordinates spaces of resource with nearly 200 First Nations and emergency management partnerships.
- Provides expert advice and assistance to regional teams and First Nation communities in the development of health emergency management training and training tools, based on operational emergency plans and the distinct needs/requirements of health emergency management planning for First Nation communities.
- Supports Regional Managers with customization, coordination and implementation of integrated emergency management training and exercising that validate FNHA emergency plans based on an all hazards approach.
- Ensures that training and exercises are realistic with respect to the hazard response being validated or practiced.
- Prepares comprehensive post training and exercise evaluations and reports.

**Qualifications**:
EDUCATION
- A University Degree with specialization in Public Health, Health Sciences, Disaster and Emergency Management, Crisis Management, Adult Education or other relevant health field or an equivalent combination of education, training and professional experience
- Completion of formal training or qualifications in health emergency management or emergency management
- EXPERIENCE- Minimum 3 year’s recent (within the last 10 years) experience in the development and delivery of training, training tolls and curriculum (preferably in an emergency management setting).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience establishing collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience leading projects and negotiating, procuring, and managing service contracts with multiple internal and external partners.
- Experience working with First Nations communities and/or organizations

**Knowledge, Skills & Attributes**:
Knowledge
- Knowledge of First Nations in BC, including the governance landscape particularly as it relates to health and wellness
- Knowledge of First Nations’ unique requires and capacity with regards to emergency management
- Knowledge of and ability to develop curriculum for emergency management and First Nations participants
- Knowledge of health services delivered to and by First Nations communities

Ability
- Ability to think critically and make fast and collaborative decisions
- Ability to rapidly assess health risks and identify mitigation and intervention strategies
- Ability to develop plans and programs related to health emergency preparedness and response
- Ability to manage the FNHA response to a health-related emergency comprehensively and collaboratively
