Experienced Barn Staff

Hillsview Stables is looking for an individual interested in joining our team. We currently have an opening for a Stable hand on a part time basis.

**Position Highlights**:

- Part time hours (be available Monday - Friday) during the day. This is not a student position. 37.5 hours biweekly.

**Key Responsibilities**:
The Stable Hand will ensure the following tasks are carried out. They include but are not limited to:

- Monitoring horses for health and soundness.
- Feeding, handling, stabling of horses. Mucking stalls.
- Cleaning, care and maintenance of stables and associated equipment.
- Ensure all yards and paddocks are free from any obstacles. Check all waters daily and report any malfunction. Check gates and properly closing and latching.
- Maintaining clean and organized barn facilities
- Assisting the vet and farrier by holding the horses.
- Under the direction of the Owner/Veterinarian, administration of prescribed medications and general first aid.
- Communicating effectively with students, parents, and barn team members.

**REQUIRED Experience**
- **Prior experience in an equestrian barn setting is absolutely required**:

- **Drivers license and reliable transportation**:

- Strong time management and organization skills
- Horse-first mindset and attention to detail
- Knowledge of horse care and health requirements
- Familiarity with farm machinery operation and maintenance
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and manual labor tasks

This position requires a certain level of autonomy in that the Stable Hand provides support to the team and Owner. You will take reasonable care of your own health and safety as well as the barn staff and horses.

Pay: $17.20-$20.00 per hour
