We are seeking program staff for our Summer 2025 camps.

Here is an opportunity to join a dynamic team who come together each summer to provide memorable, meaningful, and fun camp experiences for guests with intellectual disabilities.

Owned and operated by Community Living Toronto, Shadow Lake is a bustling summer home-away-from-home for over 500 guests with special needs and over 80 staff members.

This position is part of the program team and will report directly to the camp coordinator. They will plan and facilitate daily program activities, assist counsellors with creating individualized program ideas, and create activities consistent with the themed weeks. They adapt activities based on needs and interests and ensure inclusion in all activities.

Program staff will:

- Assist Program Coordinator with creation of a daily activity schedule.
- Plan and facilitate programs at camp including outdoor activities
- Be responsible for planning and running evening programs each night they are on shift.
- Provide support to counselling staff and guests.
- Adjust activities to the needs and abilities of guests.
- Encourage staff involvement in programs
- Maintain excellent communication with all departments.
- Create programs consistent with the themed weeks.
- Create appropriate visuals that reflect the activities planned for the day.
- Adhere to and enforce all Community Living Toronto policies and procedures

**Qualifications**:

- 1+ years experience planning, implementing and leading recreational programs.
- Education in Recreation and Leisure Studies or a related field is an asset.
- Previous experience working with individuals with special needs.
- First Aid/CPR and AED Certification

Prior to the first day of camp, all staff participate in a week-long training program, and on-line orientation. Everyone is required to obtain a police check prior to starting work.

Contract length: 14 weeks

Pay: $17.20-$17.70 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 49.5 per week
