**Position Summary**:
Provides coordination support to implement culturally appropriate and relevant tobacco harm reduction resources and services. Works closely with communities and FNHA partners in providing support to the Northern Region by gathering and disseminating tobacco related information, statistics and harm reduction strategies. In addition, the position support in relationship building with key partners (e.g. QuitNow, Northern Health Authority), to assist Consultant with policy and program development and implementation, and coordination for training and capacity building throughout the North.
**As a health and wellness organization, the First Nations Health Authority has aligned with the Provincial Public Health Order released on October 14, 2021. We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at First Nations Health Authority. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. **Responsibilities**:
- Assists in collection of information from published sources and community engagement pathways by reviewing and organizing qualitative and quantitative information collected.Assists in the development of specific approaches to reducing tobacco use by providing feedback and suggestions to ensure that it aligns with the cultural and traditional aspects of the Northern region
- Under the guidance of the provincial lead, coordinates, researches, and provides information on established FNHA provincial strategies to ensure incorporation of perspectives from North regions into engagement sessions and related activities and programs.
- Reviews existing FNHA environmental scans and resource lists, and supports the adaptations for the North regions by identifying gaps within these lists in relation to Northern First Nations Communities.
- Supports the service delivery model for tobacco harm reduction programs by incorporating Northern regional and cultural aspects into program tools, templates, and plans.

**Qualifications**:
- Diploma in health, social science, or related field relevant to the position and recent related experience in tobacco reduction/health promotion/population health, plus 1 to 2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Experience in tobacco reduction/cessation, health promotion, and/or healthy public policy
- Experience working with First Nations communities and Leadership
- Experience in project research/coordination/management
- Experience in delivering presentations to the public
- Demonstrated success in program development (creation of processes, methodologies and tools)
**Knowledge, Skills & Attributes**:
- Knowledge of Northern BC First Nations communities and area
- Knowledge of best practices in tobacco reduction/cessation and health promotion
- Must possess a valid BC Driver’s License
- Ability to use capacity building, community development and engagement theories in the development of culturally relevant and appropriate tobacco strategies
- Ability to work independently and provide concise regular updates to project team
- Ability to operate with the intent of bridging cultures and embracing diversity
- Ability to adapt data collection and analysis techniques to varied health care service providers
- Application of best practices in harm reduction approaches to health programming
