**Who We Are**
At **Global Traffic Group (GTG)**, we lead with purpose: building safer roadways and smarter, more connected communities. With innovative traffic safety and enforcement technologies, we are shaping the infrastructure of tomorrow, built on data, driven by safety, and empowered by partnerships. As we grow, we are seeking a bold, visionary, and results-driven** Business Development Specialist** who brings both the strategic mind and human touch to drive transformative growth.
**About the Role**
We’re looking for a high-performing individual - a dynamic go-getter who can do more than “sell.” Someone who sees opportunities others miss, and isn’t afraid to knock on new doors, challenge the status quo, and build long-lasting strategic partnerships.
You will play a pivotal role in driving GTG's growth, expanding our market reach, and promoting our commitment to Vision Zero. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in complex environments, knows how to earn trust quickly, and can navigate both public and private sector dynamics with poise and persuasion.
**What You’ll Do**
- **Own the Hunt**: Actively pursue new business opportunities and generate high-quality leads through market research, networking, outreach, and event engagement.
- **Build Strategic Relationships**: Cultivate deep, trust-based partnerships with government agencies, municipalities, and industry players.
- **Promote with Purpose**: Champion GTG’s mission, integrating smart mobility and Vision Zero into all conversations, proposals, and negotiations.
- **Be a Thought Partner**: Collaborate with internal teams to craft compelling campaigns, co-develop tailored client strategies, and identify future market needs.
- **Represent Boldly**: Be the face of GTG at conferences, trade shows, and stakeholder meetings. Deliver captivating demos and presentations that compel action.
- **Navigate RFPs and Complex Sales**: Lead the end-to-end proposal process, from planning and writing to submission and follow-up, with creativity and precision.
- **Track, Learn, Adapt**: Maintain accurate sales reporting and provide critical insights to optimize strategy, messaging, and go-to-market execution.
**What You Bring**
- Proven experience in business development, ideally within technology or a related industry.
- Proven ability to close large, complex deals with public sector agencies or private-sector partners.
- An
understanding of urban mobility, Vision Zero principles, and the challenges of modern traffic and infrastructure systems.
- You are bold but respectful, articulate but approachable, and tenacious but strategic.
- Experience crafting tailored solutions, backed by strong analytical and forecasting skills.
- A strong professional presence, you command a room, connect with diverse stakeholders, and speak the language of both visionaries and technologists.
- Willingness to travel as needed to represent GTG across North America.
You're a visionary leader, proactive connector, and passionate advocate for smart, safe, and sustainable cities. You understand that real impact happens at the intersection of technology, strategy, and humanity.
- You thrive in mission-driven environments and care deeply about your impact.
- You’re not just chasing quotas; you’re building partnerships that last.
- You combine **s**trategic insight with relentless execution, and you refuse to settle for average.
- You are excited by change, adaptable in ambiguity, and constantly looking for ways to innovate.
**Why Join GTG?**
- Make a tangible difference in road safety, urban efficiency, and community well-being.
- Join a team of purpose-driven professionals that values **in**itiative, curiosity, and collaboration.
- Competitive compensation, benefits, and the chance to grow your career while shaping the future of mobility.
**Work Conditions**:
- This position is a full-time, 40hr/week requirement
- On-site requirement (successful applicant must reside in the Greater Edmonton area)
- Flexibility to work overtime to meet deadlines as required
- Occasional travel required
**Conditions of Employment**:
- Successful applicant will be required to obtain a satisfactory criminal background check.
- Successful applicant must be a Canadian resident or lawfully able to work in Canada.
