The Opportunity:
This position offers applicants the opportunity to work on award-winning projects in both downtown Toronto and the broader GTA. From residential landscaping to commercial projects, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with a great team and expand their leadership skills.

The _Landscape Lead Hand _is an experienced position. The Lead Hand is responsible for performing a variety of work tasks to assist with the completion of landscape construction projects. This position will support both the foreman and work with team members in the execution of landscape construction and planting projects with accuracy, efficiency, and quality.

Established in 1997, Urban Garden is an award winning Design/Build and Maintenance company specializing in both residential and commercial projects in the central and downtown Toronto area.

- Assist foreman with periodic supervision, delegation, coordination, and execution of day-to-day work activities of a small crew of 2-3 people, at times independently.
- Have an understanding of landscape construction best practices.
- Assist foreman in the management of safety, quality and productivity of work at sites and/or shop/yard
- Ability to effectively manage a crew of up to three and meet budgets while upholding quality.
- Periodically complete and submit required paperwork or electronic logs on a daily basis as required, including daily site meetings, planning reports, attendance/time keeping, etc.
- Work safely and in a responsible manner, with eager participation and initiative.
- Actively participate in regular team meetings.
- Comply with all company policies and regulations and local health and safety regulations.
- Communicate to customer in polite and courteous manner.
- Uphold standards of cleanliness and organization of jobsites and company property.
- Assist in keeping records of hours and daily logbooks.
- Communicate well with crew members and other employees.
- Provide excellent customer service and Client relationship.
- Courteous, Friendly, Honest and Punctual.
- Full Drivers License, clean abstract.
- Additional Assets:_
- Familiarity with planting best practice.
- Ability to read landscape designs/plans.
- Prior experience in hardscape construction.
- Experience operating landscaping equipment.
- Health and Safety, First Aid, Working at Heights, and equipment certifications.
- 2-4 years landscaping experience.

This full-time seasonal position entails an approximate 50 hour per week, from March to December.

Wage range: $23 -$27/hr.
