**Job description**
**Personal Support Worker, 1-2 Weekends per month**
If you are looking for an opportunity to enrich the life of a young man with Dravet’s Syndrome this family is looking for someone to join their team.
He enjoys music and helping with chores around the house. He loves working in the kitchen cooking and baking. We like to entertain family and friends and he is a super host offering food and drinks. He enjoys swimming, bowling, car rides and walks outdoors in the wheelchair.
You will be supporting this young man in his home environment with daily care routines and community inclusion.
**Knowledge and skills**
- Recognizes and respects uniqueness, dignity and worth of each individual
- Recognize each person’s need for self-determination
- Respects the philosophy of community inclusion
- Respect for confidentiality and privacy of all individuals
**Related Skills and Experience**
- CSW with experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, kind, patient and fun
- Ability to work independently
- Able to provide safe and caring support
**Requirements**:
- At least 19 years of age
- Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector)
**Drivers Abstract**
- Basic Emergency First Aid certification
- Work/character references
- Reliable vehicle required

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent, Casual
Part-time hours: 8-12 per week
**Salary**: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Weekend availability
