**Maintenance Planning Manager - NIA Surrey**

Number of positions: 1 Job Location: NIA Surrey

Employment type: Permanent Region: Lower Mainland

Hours of work: Full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Flexible Work Role: Hybrid

Annual salary: $ 103,900.00 - 131,400.00

**What you'll do**
- Lead the NIA Area Stations work planning and scheduling function
- Management, supervision and support of the NIA Area planning and scheduling team
- Responsible for the preparation and adjustments of multi-year and annual work and outage plans
- Monitor and report on planning and scheduling performance against key performance indicators
- Ensure work is planned and scheduled in accordance with BC Hydro Business Rules and processes, BC Hydro and

industry best practices, BC Hydro system requirements (i.e. load demand) and regulatory requirements
- Ensure work and outages are bundled to maximize efficiencies within the area and across regions
- Ensure work plans and labour resources are balanced
- Prepare and manage contracts required to support maintenance work execution
- Working closely with Field Managers, Crew Leaders, and Maintenance Engineers to determine the requirements for

efficient, cost effective work execution in compliance with all applicable standards and regulations
- Ensuring the area planning and scheduling team are trained in maintenance planning/scheduling processes and the use

of the work management system, provide day-to-day mentoring and guidance, and ensure compliance with system
standards and processes
- Working closely with IP, PCM, CIPD, SFO, and TDSO to meet maintenance and capital project completion objectives
- Overseeing the annual/monthly/weekly planning and scheduling of all work requiring SFO field resources and tracking

progress against those plans
- Overseeing the preparation of job packages including the parts, materials, equipment, and documentation required by field

crews to safely and efficiently execute the work
- Ensuring the planning team is working closely with MMBU and external suppliers to source parts, materials and

transportation services
- Overseeing the scheduling of equipment outages and field resources required to support capital projects
- Ensuring the work management system data and files are complete, current and accurate
- Working closely with NIA Integrated Planning Team, NIA Managers and Crew Leaders, leads development of the NIA

Annual Work Plan
- Support NIA REOC activities as the Planning and the Logistics Lead

**What you bring**
- Engineering degree, technical diploma, or journey level trade certification
- A recognized planning or scheduling certification is an asset
- Minimum of eight years maintenance experience in an industrial environment
- Demonstrated understanding of and experience working with the NIA Work Planning and Work Management Processes
- Demonstrated understanding of diesel generating station operation and maintenance practices
- Strong, demonstrated understanding of the NIA specific computerized maintenance management system
- Advanced level computing skills with demonstrated ability in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Project
- Working knowledge of SAP systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills with proven ability to influence without authority
- Proven ability to work equally well independently and as part of a team
- Excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize competing assignments
- Previous supervisory experience is an asset
- Strong decision-making and analytical skills with proven ability to generate, analyze, and draw conclusions from work

management system data
- Proven ability to meet deadlines in a high pressure environment
- A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s license is required
