The Payroll position is a key role in Mississauga, ON for Regal Rexnord. In this role, the Payroll Specialist will own the entire bi-weekly payroll process from start to finish, ensuring timely and accurate processing, and delivery and reconciliation of the payroll. The Payroll Specialist is the key contact with our payroll processor - ADP. This is a multi-faceted role and includes responsibility for benefit and HRIS administration. The Payroll Specialist will continuously improve our payroll and benefit processing by recommending enhancements to ensure accuracy and consistency and improve the overall efficiency our HR processes. - Key Responsibilities
- Processes bi-weekly payroll utilizing ADP Workforce Now for multiple locations in Canada.
- Updates employee information such as personal data, compensation, tax data, additions/terminations of benefits Payroll system.
- Updates timekeeping system with historical changes/corrections and calculates retro pay based on these changes.
- Ensures that employee pay, payroll records and deduction reporting are confidentially maintained, accurate and timely.
- Prepares and files required reports and/or payments (i.e. government agencies, retirement plans, pension plans, insurance carriers, etc.)
- Develops and implements changes in methods or procedures to improve the efficiency of the payroll function.
- Serves as liaison with other departments, business units, or locations in the resolution of benefit, payroll issues.
- Examines employee files to answer inquiries and provides information to authorized persons.
- Is the SME for payroll and benefits and drives culture of continuous improvement within the Mississauga location.
- Maintains strong relationship with vendors.
- Participates in or leads projects in targeted improvement areas.
- Professional Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or PCP Certified
- Minimum of 5 years payroll experience in a fast-paced environment
- Payroll Certification Preferred (ex. PCP, CPM or equivalent).
- Proficiency with Workday will be viewed favorably
- Strong understanding of Payroll and HR Processes, Benefits procedures
- Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to exercise good judgement in sensitive, confidential situations
- Ability to aggressively meet deadlines
- Superior Excel Skills
