**The Role**

Reporting to the Team Leader, Renewals & Statements, the Senior Mortgage Specialist - Renewals, is responsible for preparing renewal offers and confirmation letters for all lenders on existing mortgage loans. In addition, this role will also be responsible for training new staff and will act as a resource for existing staff for ongoing support and development.
- Update loans on the renewal processor, when applicable, or manually on Mortgage Servicing system (MARS) when signed renewal offers are received from recipient(s)
- Prepare and send manual renewal confirmation letters outlining renewal details, in the method requested
- Maintain positive relationships with Lenders regarding renewal instructions and escalations
- Update MARS with any memos or instructions on a loan with respect to renewal particulars, if required
- Auto renew loans that have passed their maturity date based on business rules and lender guidelines
- Prepare and send manual called loan letters based on lender guidelines
- Review work driving and health check reports on a regular basis (daily, weekly, monthly) and update MARS, if necessary
- All documentation and interactions are tracked in workflow system by mortgage number
- Send loans to centralhelp (IT) if fields not updateable based on product/program, and follow-up to ensure loan updated correctly at renewal
- Provide input into the creation of training programs/materials in order to fill any training needs for the team
- Co-ordinate, prepare and deliver on the job training for new staff
- Identify trends/gaps required for ongoing development and communicate results and recommendations to Team Leader

- Business experience in an operations environment
- Organizational and time-management skills
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to prioritize volumes of work
- System navigational skills
- Detail oriented
- Solid understanding of MARS and Prism (Internal Systems)
