Introduction

Flexserv is a leading provider of a full range of internal accounting and HR services to small and medium size enterprises - organizations that typically range in size from 5-70 employees and we’re looking for a Full-Time VP- Operations with at least 10 years experience to work for us.

About Us

Our customers look to us to fully manage their bookkeeping, accounting and human resources. This frees up our client’s executive and staff to focus on their core strategic activities such as sales and delivery, while we manage their corporate services. Our staff work in a matrixed environment, working on one or more clients, depending on the workload generated by each of our clients. They may be teamed with certain Flexserv specialists for one client and other Flexserv specialists for another client. Ultimately, our clients see our team as an integral part of their company on a long term basis. There is the opportunity to combine onsite work and telecommuting. Please note that we are not a recruiting agency but we seek ongoing, long-term operational relationships with our clients.

The Role

You are a CPA seeking a senior leadership role. As part of its succession plan, Flexserv is hiring a VP-Operations to manage the organization across Canada.

Flexserv becomes the in-house accounting (CFO, Controller, Bookkeeper) and HR for our clients. Our staff work as much as our clients require to get the job done well. After celebrating our tenth anniversary, we are ready to move to the next level by becoming a truly National firm.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Canadian Practice Management
- Proactive Client relationship management
- Strengthen controls related to our engagements and ensure all client dates are identified, tracked and met
- Ensure oversight over all staff
- Manage and strengthen our recruiting process
- Augment the use of Practice Management tools targeting the top decile of industry leadership
- Monitoring the competitive landscape and attending industry events to stay abreast of new initiatives and ways to stay ahead
- Design and implement more formalized/controlled staff and client onboarding process
- Implement system to track staff assignments, staff availability and staffing plans
- Manage and update Flexserv’s digital presence, including our website and social media
- Update our Global outreach, including our Guide to establishing Operations in Canada
- Support Business Development across Canada
- Most senior point of contact to resolve client and staff issues

Skills and Qualifications:

- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Bachelor's degree
- A track record of growing a business
- You have had senior operational responsibilities
- You know the accounting world and have solid knowledge of HR
- Great interpersonal skills
- Accomplishment of always delivering great client service
- Your former staff would choose to work with you again
- Minimum of 12 years experience after you received your CPA
- CPA in good standing
- You enjoy working with small to medium sized clients

Reporting Relationship:
Report directly to Flexserv CEO
