Job Description:
Algonquin College Food Services operates 7 food locations throughout the Ottawa campus: The Marketplace Food Court, 35th Street Market Café, Bits n’ Bytes, Booster Juice, Portable Feast, Tim Hortons, and The Fix.

To provide friendly and efficient cashier transactions at the Food Service location while maintaining a hygienic work area. The incumbent will assist in stocking shelves and making coffee when able.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Completes cashier transactions and provide correct change if required;- Ensure drink fridges, coffee area and cashier shelving are stocked;- Provides efficient service, keeping areas clean at all times including server counters;- Cleans, cuts and prepares fruit and vegetables for use in daily menu as required;- Prepares sandwiches as required;- Performs housekeeping duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
- Secondary School (Grade 10) diploma;-
- Ability to work independently and/or in a team atmosphere;- Ability to work effectively under pressure;- Ability of providing speedy, efficient, courteous and tactful service;- Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and stock a variety of merchandise;- Excellent interpersonal and communication skill;- Knowledge in kitchen sanitation and safety standards an asset.

Anticipated Schedules:
- Early morning, daytime, evening and weekend hours available- Posting is reflective of the following position numbers: P17278, P17281, P17819, P18509, P18677
- These positions are paid at Food Service Worker A - Pay band 2
- These positions are 8-months per year positions with an annual seasonal layoff
