**Description**:
The student assists a blue collar worker in parks, sports fields and play areas.

**Departmental mission**:
The mission of the Public Works Department is to maintain infrastructure, public equipment and public spaces in a safe and effective manner to ensure a sustainable high quality of life in Pointe-Claire. The Department relies on a qualified and professional staff dedicated to the quality of life of Pointe-Claire citizens.

**General responsibilities and goals**:

- Use appropriate manual or motorized equipment to cut the grass and remove weeds;
- Change the garbage bins;
- Perform manual maintenance of parks, green spaces and streets and sidewalks: Raking playgrounds, removing trash, sweeping playgrounds and sidewalks, collecting cigarette butts from the ground and ashtrays;
- Report various problems related to public hygiene, as well as broken equipment and street furniture;
- Represent the City in the public domain (answering citizens and users’ questions with a welcoming customer-service approach).

**Job requirements**:

- At minimum, be enrolled in a secondary school program;
- Possess a good physical endurance and be capable of working in the sun and hot conditions;
- Knowledge of spoken English and French; knowledge of written French;
- Tact and courtesy;
- Ability to work on in a team.

**Schedule**:
36 hours per week
