We are looking for individuals who are devoted to helping others and improving the lives and wellbeing of Indigenous children, youth and families. This team has the honor and privilege of working with Indigenous community in the surrounding area, engaging and collaborating with community partners, provincial, federal, and non-governmental agencies, Elders and Roots Practioners to support cultural connections for children and their families and to promote cultural understanding for caregivers and staff. We strive to enhance service delivery, ensure child safety and meet the needs of Indigenous children, youth and families. The team works in ways that honor truth-telling, wisdom of community and culture and focuses on creative ways to meet the needs of children, youth and families. **The Role** In this role you will deliver a broad range of child safety and prevention-based services to Indigenous children, youth and their families while incorporating Indigenous cultural perspective. You will work within a multidisciplinary approach to ministry programs and services in accordance with legislation and policies. You will ensure culturally safe and trauma-informed practices that support and honor Indigenous peoples’ cultural systems. This position offers a valuable opportunity to work with Indigenous communities, engaging and learning in meaningful ways. Your work will support some of the most vulnerable children in B.C., who face a range of challenges. This position offers the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of Indigenous children and families, providing essential support and care. **Qualifications**: **Education and Experience Requirements** ***1. Preferred Credentials**: - Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Social Work or in Child & Youth Care **OR** Master's Degree in Educational Counselling Psychology/Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology with completion of a practicum in family and child welfare **OR**: - In-service Ministry of Children and Family Development employees who have a regular SPO 24-30 base position that requires delegation under the Child, Family and Community Services Act (CFCSA) **OR**: - **NOTE**:If this education was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a comprehensive report and the MCFD supplemental report by the closing date of this posting to be considered. **2. Expanded Credentials**: - Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field **OR** Bachelor’s Degree with a Major/Honors in a Human Services field **OR** Master’s level graduate Certificate/Diploma in a Human Services field **AFTER** the completion of an unrelated Bachelor’s Degree. - **PLUS**, a minimum of one year of related **OR** job-specific work experience. - Other combinations of education and experience may be considered. - **NOTE**: If this education was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES).
