Outbound Logistics Load Planner

This role is responsible for planning and carrying out all aspects of the freight transportation process (including physical work) while meeting the compliance and cost requirements according to standards, utilizing approved transportation carriers, routed to minimize travelled miles and maximize product on the trailer.

This job is hands-on; it combines physically loading trailers while also reducing shipping time, expediting routes, and maximizing efficiency of loads for all pick up and deliveries.

Perform inspections with regards to CTPAT rules and regulation to comply to Giftcraft requirements.

Create and process custom documents for our Customs Broker and Border Carrier and communicate daily with all parties if any concerns.

**SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES INCLUDE**:

- Ensure delivery windows are met for customer deliveries.
- Verify and input account information, and establish and maintain standard routing criteria as needed.
- Experience in rate shopping selecting appropriate carriers based on cost and delivery standards.
- Experience in shipping processes for both collect and prepaid
- Create crossing documents (manifest/trailer inspection, Bill of Ladings, etc.) dockets for Outbound Logistics
- Create and process custom documents for our Customs Broker and Border Carrier and communicate daily with all parties if any concerns.
- Co-ordinate and route vendor pickups or cross docks where applicable
- Ensure timely communication to other departments as required and pickup information is communicated to your Team Leader end of day.
- Maintain Routing software
- Maintain Customer Routing Guides
- Follow up with Team Leader regarding issues or feedback
- Designate appropriate equipment to routes (trailers)
- Co-ordinate with warehouse on skid building, product staging and load mapping
- Ensure health and safety procedures and guidelines are adhered to
- Load Trailers hand bombing Loose cartons and pallets with pallet jack
- Other duties as assigned

**WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING**:

- Minimum 4 years previous shipping /load planning of documents for Custom clearance in a Distribution environment required
- Experience in Custom Clearance reporting to Custom Brokers.
- Knowledge of Net Suite System would be an asset.
- Must have experience and be familiar with transport documents
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate in a diverse environment
- Proficient with computer programs -Dispatch System preferred, Word and Excel required.
- Must be able to exercise initiative, multi-task and work well as part of a team in a high stress environment; punctual and dependable
- Ability to work shifts Mon - FRI 6:30am - 3:30pm

Pay: From $21.96 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 44 per week
