Operations Supervisor

Apex is currently accepting resumes for an Operations Supervisor within its Door Opening Solutions Group. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the primary role of this full-time position is to manage warehouse and production shop teams, as well as field service and installation technicians. In rare instances, some weekend or overtime work may be required and training will be provided.
**Responsibilities**:
- Coordinate with Project Managers on field service and installation technician scheduling or availability.
- Manage the team handling the distribution and storage of all freight, products, and supplies that come in or out of the branch warehouse and production shop.
- Ensure all production orders are shipped to customers in a timely manner per delivery schedules.
- Assist with maintaining inventory levels to meet the internal and external demand of products.
- Manage vehicle fleet and equipment (vans, forklifts, scissor lifts, etc.).
- Maintaining a safe work environment.
- Serve as a member of the branch Health and Safety Committee, holding responsibility for warehouse, production shop, and field technician health and safety compliance.
- Resolve work issues and recommend improvements to management.
- Maintain appropriate and complete documentation regarding regulated products or hazardous materials.
- Conduct periodic spot-checks of inventory levels, supplies, or equipment.
- Assess the need for - and arrange purchase of - moving equipment (trailers, forklifts, crash pads, dollies, etc.)
- Investigate causes of lost or damaged shipments and other matters, adjusting where necessary.
- Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and specifications.
- Implement and monitor performance metrics for shipping and receiving.
- Hiring, training, and developing new operations employees.
**Requirements**:
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Supervisory experience in a warehouse function or production shop environment.
- Construction site experience would be considered an asset.
- Experience installing doors, frames, hardware, dock levelers, or overhead doors would be considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of operations, warehouse management, and transportation management.
- Direct knowledge of WHMIS and other safety systems or procedures.
- Forklift certification is preferred.
- Knowledge of warehouse documentation and strong writing and communication skills.
- Financial and business awareness is preferred.
