Finance Clerk Summer Student

**Are you looking for a meaningful summer job? **Community Care City of Kawartha Lakes is looking for a student to join our finance department, in a full-time capacity over the summer months. The role would provide support and assistance to our current finance team members with a variety of tasks. This position will report to our Finance Manager and all tasks would receive appropriate training and oversight.

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Assist in the entry and processing of accounts payable invoices.
- Assist in the entry and processing of accounts receivable payments, including assistance with collection.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual journal entries, investigate variances and suggest corrective adjustments.
- Coordinate work with other finance team members.
- Provide back-up support to other finance team members as necessary.
- Other duties as required.

**Qualifications**
- Between the ages of 15 and 30
- Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Experience working in an accounting or financial roll would be an asset.
- Effective communication, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Proven organizational and time management skills.
- Upon a conditional offer of employment, a clean Vulnerable Sector Record Check will be required.
