**Adventure365 SPROCKIDS Camp Counsellor**

**Adventure365** is seeking to hire an energetic and dynamic **Camp Counsellor** for our **SPROCKIDS Mountain Bike Program **Our SprocKids Program offers kids the opportunity to discover the fun of Mountain Biking in a safe, supervised environment.

The SPROCKIDS Camp Counsellor is responsible for planning and leading fun experiences for children in a small group setting, while also being responsible for the general safety and development, growth, and skill achievement of the participants in their group.

**You Get To**:

- Develop relationships with all campers and teammates.
- Organize and lead small and large group activities each week - like mountain bike skills, trail riding, trail building crafts, nature walks, songs, games, orienteering, etc.
- Put together a weekly schedule for your camp group.
- Help guide Camp Volunteers to have a deeper understanding of leadership and counseling skills.
- Supervise campers during snacks/meals periods and drop off/ pick up periods
- Complete daily attendance, incident reports and logbook documentation.
- Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with the camp and all program areas.
- Be aware of camper dietary/medical needs and take necessary steps to manage.
- Identify and respond to camper behavior issues.
- Ensure that the site is kept clean, organized, and free of litter.
- Keep parents up to date about participant’s experiences and report concerns to Camp Leadership.

**What You Bring**:

- Ability to ride a bike - experience riding a mountain bike on trails is essential.
- High energy, self-starter with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Experience and/or desire to work with children and youth in a day camp setting.
- Ability to lead, plan, organize, and implement program activities.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Able to problem-solve effectively.
- Must have the physical ability to lead and participate in camp activities which include, but are not limited to, mountain biking, trail building, hiking, team building initiatives, physical games, and activities.
- Must be capable of carrying loads of up to 50 pounds and able to traverse hilly and uneven terrain without undue exertion.
- Able to work in varying conditions, such as inclement weather, mud, dirt, etc.

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- Ability to work as a member of a team and the ability to accomplish tasks with little direct supervision.
- Education courses or experience in campa, youth programs, recreation, working with children, or in a related field would be considered an asset.
- Successfully complete a Criminal Background Check.

**Salary Range**:
$15.50 - $17/ hour based on experience
