We are seeking to hire up to two new IP clerks to join our vibrant our team.

Key responsibilities include:

- Receiving and docketing incoming correspondence from IP offices, clients and foreign associates
- Managing due dates in an IP management system (e.g., Pattsy, FoundationIP, AppColl, Docketrak)
- Filing submissions online with CIPO and USPTO
- Corresponding directly with clients and foreign colleagues to provide reminders of upcoming due dates

Qualifications:

- Post-secondary education in legal support related discipline (law clerk, law assistant, paralegal)
- Prior experience in IP law is preferred
- Strong understanding of IP law concepts, including patents, trademarks and industrial designs
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Self-motivated and able to deliver on the firm’s needs with mínimal direction or supervision, but with the judgement to seek additional perspectives when needed
- Interest in implementing continuous improvement in law firm process efficiency and confidence to suggest opportunities for improvement
