**What you will be doing**:

- Providing training, teaching and experiential opportunities based in ceremony that support the transition from trauma-informed practice to ceremony-informed healing
- Sharing teachings that are specific to ceremony, turtle lodge teachings, circle process and relational accountability
- Offering ceremony on a regular basis to support service providers and the children, youth and families that they serve, such as teachings on smudge, hosting sweats, pipe ceremonies, ceremonial feasts, etc.
- Providing land-based teaching opportunities such as Tipi Teachings, medicine picking, and feast teachings to the children, youth and families that we serve
- Supporting the development of service provider capacity to ensure their ability to provide services in a culturally meaningful manner
- Providing continual coaching and guidance on protocol, how to approach Elders, and being a mentor or guide in ceremony

**What you bring to the role**:

- Must be actively involved in, and committed to Indigenous ways of being, ceremony and practice
- Experience and knowledge from a Cree (_nêhiyaw_) perspective regarding Ceremonies and teachings
- Experience working in the community with service users and service providers
- Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary and collaborative team
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours
- Experience working with Children and Family Services is an asset
- Experience working with people from diverse cultures
- Requires knowledge, skills, and abilities to effectively support people impacted by trauma, through a trauma informed lens

**Background Check Process & Requirements**:
As part of the selection process, The Family Centre will conduct reference checks.
- Police Information Check - Vulnerable Sector (completed within the last 6 months)
- Child Intervention Records Check (completed within the last 6 months)
- $2 million Vehicle Liability Insurance
- Reliable Vehicle that is available for regular use, a valid driver’s license
- Our Children Are Sacred Youth Suicide Prevention Training or ASIST Suicide Intervention Training within 3 months of start date
- Standard First Aid Level C CPR within 3 months of start date
