**Job Summary**

The Tooling Coordinator is responsible for maintaining all vendor mass production tooling activities. Works closely with Launch Team and VTCA, ensure all tools meets Vuteq’s Tooling Standards during the development and throughout the model year.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Support all mass production tool repairs; co-ordinate planning activities with local tools shops, logistics internal and external, and PC planning teams, visit tool shops as required
- Support all modifications to mass production tooling ECI’s (Tool shop, logistics, bank builds)
- Ensure tool PM’s are scheduled and completed as per OEM (Internal and External tools)
- Monitor tooling gloss level conditions, arrange “sandblasting” re-glossing during shut down periods
- Responsible for monitoring and ordering tooling spare parts inventory for current and new molds
- Auditing vendor capacity capabilities and tool design compliance
- Involved in the analysis of technical data (Drawings, data, sketches) provides insight into manufacturing capabilities
- Advise on new mold specification to enhance tooling
- Participate in design reviews and mold flow reviews; ensure tooling is correct, and it meets the demands of what the customer wants/needs
- Review plant capacity with Injection Specialist Coordinator to confirm intended press size
- Present maker layout and cost for plant sign off
- Support management selection of tool shops
- Support VTCA activities related to pre-production ECI, Ringisho, PO process and arrange tooling transportation
- Identify critical spare parts required during launch activities and confirm requirements
- Responsible for attending tool testing and ensure the mold functions correctly during mass production ECI’s Ensure tools are production ready prior to start of production. Participates in hand off from tooling from VTCA/tool shops to Plant. Confirm that all open PFS items are closed by VTCA team
- Lead plant side PFS activities on all tools from transfer from VTCA until HVPT is completed and all items resolved
- Coordinate with Mold Maintenance team and conduct the inspection of new tools upon arrival at Vuteq
- Works with production to troubleshoot tooling issues and coordinate improvements/repairs with Mold Maintenance
- Coordinate and control customer owned tooling asset tag management and lead customer owned tooling audits
- Responsible for mentoring new/more junior team members

**Job Qualifications**

**_ Education_**
- Successful completion of a minimum 2 - 4-year post-secondary program; design, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering considered relevant

**_ Experience_**
- 5 - 7 years of experience in mold design/mold making is considered an asset
- Program management experience considered an asset
- Automotive experience considered an asset

**_ Skills and Abilities_**
- Actively listening to tool shops and fellow designers on engineering changes and specifications
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, Project, Auto Cad, Catia, Solidworks
- Ability to show versatility and resourcefulness when problem solving
- Program Management: organizing and tracking multiple tooling projects
- Attention to detail and accuracy when preparing and reviewing mold designs
- Ability to adapt to changing demands from customers as well as fellow team members
- Strong interpersonal skills; having to communicate with several people at once
- Ability to organize priorities based on deadlines and importance of tasks
- Manage time efficiently while working on several different tasks at once
- Sense of creativity when designing a mold, and when having to change and adapt to different specifications
