**About **t**he **r**ole**:
The **Assistant Receiving Manager** supports the Receiving Manager in all aspects of receiving, inspecting, and processing deliveries for the store. This role involves verifying shipments, organizing stock, and ensuring that all deliveries maintain the product tracking and approval required by kosher law, with the assistance of the in-store Mashgiach (kosher supervisor).

**What **you'll** do**:
**Receiving Deliveries**:

- Assist in unloading trucks and receiving deliveries from suppliers
- Verify that the quantity and quality of items match the purchase orders and delivery documents

**Inspection**:

- Inspect incoming goods for damage, spoilage, or incorrect items
- Report any discrepancies or issues to the Grocery Receiver or Receiving Manager immediately

**Documentation**:

- Help maintain accurate records of all received goods, including filling out paperwork, logging items into the inventory system, and filing delivery receipts

**Organization**:

- Organize and sort received items in the stockroom or warehouse according to store procedures
- Ensure that products are properly labeled and stored in the appropriate areas

**Stock Management**:

- Assist in rotating stock according to the store’s FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures to minimize waste
- Help with regular inventory counts and audits

**Safety and Cleanliness**:

- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and the use of equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts

**Team Collaboration**:

- Work closely with Mashgiach (kosher supervisor and other store departments, such as meat, fish, dairy, produce, grocery, and frozen foods, to ensure timely and accurate stocking of received goods

**Customer Service**:

- Assist with customer inquiries regarding deliveries or out-of-stock items
- Provide excellent service to both internal and external customers

**Problem Solving**:

- Assist in resolving issues related to receiving, such as handling returns to suppliers, reporting overages/shortages, or coordinating with the purchasing department on discrepancies

**Additional Duties**:

- Perform other duties as assigned by the Grocery Receiver or Receiving Manager, which may include assisting with store opening/closing procedures or helping in other departments during peak times

**What you’ll bring**:
**Education**
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred

**Experience**:

- Previous experience in a receiving or stockroom role is a plus
- Familiarity with grocery products and inventory systems is an advantage

**Skills**:

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Basic math skills for verifying quantities and recording inventory
- Ability to operate standard receiving equipment, such as pallet jacks or forklifts (training may be provided)
- Good communication and teamwork skills

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
- Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently

**Work Environment**:

- Fast-paced retail environment, often involving physical work in a stockroom or warehouse setting
- Regular exposure to varying temperatures, particularly when receiving refrigerated or frozen goods
- May require early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts
