We’re currently looking for a **Recreation Coordinator (Maternity Leave Coverage)** to lead engaging programs for residents at our beautiful long-term care home in **Coquitlam, BC**.

**The Opportunity: Recreation Coordinator**:
**(Temporary Full-Time | Maternity Leave Coverage | Madison Care Centre, Coquitlam, BC)**

As a Recreation Coordinator, you’ll take the lead in designing and delivering a vibrant calendar of activities that promote emotional, physical, and social well-being. From creative arts to music, fitness, and outings—you’ll create experiences that bring joy and connection to our residents’ daily lives.

**What You’ll Be Doing**:

- Creating and implementing monthly recreation calendars tailored to resident interests and abilities
- Leading group and individual programs, including crafts, music, exercise, games, and community outings
- Collaborating with residents, families, and care staff to ensure activities meet diverse needs
- Coordinating with volunteers: recruitment, training, scheduling, and recognition
- Partnering with kitchen and care teams to organize special events
- Supporting snack and mealtimes, including assisting with feeding as needed
- Monitoring and documenting resident participation and well-being
- Working within the monthly recreation budget in collaboration with the Director of Care and Office Manager
- Attending Family Council meetings and engaging families in resident-centered events
- Ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all residents and team members

**What We’re Looking For**:

- Graduate of a recognized recreation program—or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1+ year of related experience (preferred but not required)
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to self-manage and work collaboratively within a team
- A positive, enthusiastic attitude with a passion for senior care
- Physically and mentally able to meet the demands of the role
