Conveniently located in Greater Victoria with a fully stocked lumber yard New to the GMS Canada Family in 2023, Home Lumber and Building Supplies has proudly served Vancouver Island customers for 64 years.

**Position Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Design residential and commercial floor systems and produce layouts using proprietary software.
- Design single structural members.
- Produce material lists for yard production and work closely with sales and delivery staff to ensure orders are completed accurately.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet design deadlines.
- Monitor inventories of engineered wood products and connectors and assist in purchases.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other construction documents.
- Ability to learn proprietary design software.
- Ability to exercise good judgment, show initiative and be proactive.
- On site framing and general floor assembly knowledge an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite -Outlook, Excel, Word.
- Statics, mechanical and materials background preferred.
- Drafting and design background preferred.
- Strong communications and customer service skills.
- Self-starter with the capability to work independently.

Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
