**WORKING HOURS**:
**Full-time, seasonal** position requiring flexibility in scheduling, including early morning hours. The role includes the expectation to work **weekends and holidays** as needed, with availability for extended hours depending on weather conditions and **special events.**

**JOB OVERVIEW**:
The Terrain Park Lead Hand plays a critical leadership role in overseeing and implementing the daily operations of the terrain park, ensuring that guests enjoy a safe and progressive experience. This position is responsible for maintaining park features and monitoring safety protocols. In the absence of the Terrain Park Supervisor, the Lead Hand assumes supervisory duties, directing staff, coordinating maintenance tasks, and ensuring compliance with all safety standards. As the primary point of contact during these times, the Lead Hand sets a high standard for both park quality and guest interaction, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
**QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED**:
- ** Terrain Park Experience**: At least three seasons in terrain park operations, with strong skills in maintenance and safety standards.
- ** Leadership**: Proven experience or training in supervising and leading teams, with a focus on motivating staff and ensuring efficiency.
- ** Skiing/Snowboarding**: Expert-level skier or snowboarder, ability to test and provide feedback on features from small to XXL.
- ** Physical Fitness**: Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including shovelling, raking, lifting, and moving heavy objects for extended shifts.
- ** Safety & Documentation**: Knowledge of safety protocols, with experience in documentation, record-keeping, and incident reporting.
- ** Communication**: Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with other departments on planning and park maintenance.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- ** Operational Leadership**: Act as the lead in the absence of the Terrain Park Supervisor, assigning tasks and overseeing daily operations to ensure smooth and safe functioning of the park.
- ** Feature Maintenance**: Build, maintain, and test terrain park features, ensuring they are safe, progressive, and meet quality standards for riders of all skill levels.
- Safety Management: Prioritize safety by following all protocols and procedures, inspecting features regularly, and ensuring boundaries, signage, and safety markers are in place.
- ** Documentation**: Complete and maintain accurate daily logs, safety checklists, and incident reports to support compliance and operational standards.
- ** Guest Interaction**: Provide a positive experience by engaging with guests, answering questions, and maintaining a friendly, approachable presence in the park.
- ** Emergency Response**: Respond professionally and calmly to any incidents, following standard operating procedures and coordinating with patrol for accident reporting and assistance.
- ** Interdepartmental Collaboration**: Work closely with other departments to coordinate on hill operations, ensuring effective communication and planning.
- ** Equipment Care**: Respect and maintain tools, machinery, and park assets, ensuring they are used responsibly and stored properly.
- ** Training and Development**: Participate in all required training sessions, including orientation and safety workshops, to stay current on procedures and enhance skills.
