Landscape/ Hardscape Technician

As we strive to offer the best client experience possible, Geller’s provides a comprehensive aftercare program presented to all of our installed landscape construction projects. This program offers an indefinite plant warranty, bed maintenance, turf maintenance, and hardscape maintenance.

We are currently advertising to hire hardscape aftercare technician for our summer season. This team member will be working mainly by themselves or with one additional team member. You will work closely with a Project Manager on a day-to-day basis to outline daily tasks. This position will have the opportunity to lead a small hardscape installation crew throughout the season as workload fluctuates.

Job Role:
Provide ongoing maintenance and repair services for the hardscape component of outdoor living projects, while assisting in training and overseeing of small hardscape additions to existing projects.

**Requirements**:

- Valid Class 5 License and vehicle to commute to our shop in St. Andrew’s
- Ability to speak, read and write in English
- Ability to work manual labour for 8-12 hours per day
- A positive attitude
- 5+ years of experience installing hardscape surfaces

Daily Tasks Include:

- Safely working with and around heavy equipment ( Skid steer, Excavators, Compaction equipment)
- Moving landscape materials with wheel barrows around a job-site
- Lifting and relaying paving stone surfaces
- Installing new polymeric joint sand on hardscape surfaces
- Marking and cutting paving stones
- Cleaning dirty or stained hardscape surfaces with a variety of different cleaning solutions
- Operating a pressure washer
- Repair cracked or chipped paving stones
- Working with construction hand tools and small engine equipment
- Oversee and assist in small hardscape projects or additions
- Assist in training junior staff members

**Required Skills**:

- Work effectively alone and as a team
- Communicate freely with other staff members
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Utilize cloud based software program for hour and material tracking on site
- Ability to lift 55+ lbs
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to educate clients on hardscape maintenance
- Excellent problem solving skills

Length of Employment:

- April 15- November 15th ( Depending on weather )
- Part-time and full-time employment available in Winter completing snow removal or carpentry work

Expected Hours:

- Monday to Friday
- Weather and schedule may require some Saturday work.
- 10-12 hours per day

Compensation:

- Starting wage of $25-$35/hr based on experience and skill set
- Paid overtime
