The Pacific National Exhibition is an iconic institution in BC, famous for bringing generations of people together to celebrate and build memories. This 113-year-old, non-profit organization has an annual operating budget of over $70 million dollars and generates revenue through four activity streams: the 15-day annual summer Fair and winter Fair which average more than 700,000 people annually, Playland amusement park which welcomes 400,000 guests annually including Fright Nights, and a busy year-round portfolio of events including concerts, trade shows and film, cultural and community events. In total we bring over 2 million people through the site each year. The fourth activity stream is park care and facility maintenance. We are looking for a collaborative, self-starter to take on the role of Manager, Event Operations within the Year-Round Events Team at the PNE. This is a leadership position and will be responsible for leading a team of event managers that plans and executes a wide range of live events, services our tenant and film clients and manages our relationships with IATSE and event suppliers. The team is responsible for all event day deliverables. This individual will work closely with many departments within the organization to ensure a seamless event experience for PNE clients and guests.

The Manager, Event Operations will report to the Director, Year-Round Operations. The position plays a key role on the event operations leadership team and is critical to developing team synergies, growing bandwidth of the team and providing day to day leadership within the organization.

**What will you do this year?**

In your role as the
**Manager, Event Operations**, your primary accountabilities will be to:
**Leadership & Administration**

In conjunction with the Director, Year-Round Operations inspire the event managers to maximize their potential and productivity through optimization of processes and technology.
- Model the PNE’s core values and lead the team to not putting the event before the CART (Communication, Accountability, Respect and Trust) with the full PNE team.
- Develop and model positive client relationship standards with production managers, tradeshow producers, concert promoters, tour management and other PNE stakeholders.
- Provide professional leadership, training and team oversight for the event management team and direct the team in meeting their achieving their corporate and personal goals.
- Work with year-round events team on optimizing the event life cycle systems and organizational processes.
- Leads department in the utilization and best practices in Ungerboeck.
- Ensure all corporate planning timelines are met respectively and diligently including contracts, budgets, reporting and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure timely internal and external communication to department, organization, and external stakeholders.
- Manages team assignments, schedules, and vacation planning.
- Reviews and provides guidance to team for quality assurance in the delivery of all events.

**Event Operations**
- In conjunction with the facility sales team facilitates process within the operations team for client quote and estimate requests.

- Coordinate event staffing levels, public safety, facility maintenance, load-in, load out and all other event operations.
