IT Instructor

Eastern College is actively seeking a Information Technology (IT) Instructor Teaching Linux to join the team at the Halifax campus.

**Primary Responsibilities**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Preparation of daily lesson plans.
- Instructs assigned courses in accordance with course competencies.
- Develop and/or utilize a variety of instructional strategies, techniques and delivery methods designed to meet the individual learning styles of students.
- Fosters a safe and civil learning environment.
- Prepares lecture/lab and class materials as required.
- Informs students about course requirements, evaluation procedures, attendance policies, and provides students with a copy of the course outline to review.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Must have 5 years of experience working in Linux programing, or 2 years of experience following a diploma or degree.
- Linux administration.
- In-class teaching, experience is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications and use of the Internet.
- Understanding of Adult Learning Principles is required.
- Professionalism combined with intermediate Microsoft Office skills, superior communication and organizational skills will be essential to success in this role.

**Hours of Work**:
This position is a part time opportunity.

Hours of work will be 8am-12pm, Monday to Friday.

This is a 7-week contract position.Teaching starts on May 1 and ends June 16.

**Work Location**:
This position will be working on-site at our Halifax Campus.

**Start Date**:
The scheduled start for this opportunity is immediate.
