The **Valhalla Hotel & Conference Centre** is currently recruiting for Sales & Catering Executive. The Sales & Catering Executive is responsible for establishing, maintaining and managing strong relationships with existing, past and future guests. They will work very closely with the Area Director of Sales & Marketing in an administrative role to support the Sales and Catering team members. Sales & Catering Coordinators can identify and anticipate guest needs, while delivering a warm and caring experience. They focus on converting inbound inquiries into sales and catering business that actualizes, while delivering an exceptional guest experience and building guest loyalty. They are a goal oriented, highly organized multi-tasker with the ability to sell and actualize new business inquiries. They excel at maintaining existing clients and accounts for the hotel. Ultimately, they directly contribute to our goal of growing revenue and improving our competitive position.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

**_Reporting to the Area Director of Sales & Marketing, the Sales & Catering Executive will: _**
- Perform various administrative tasks in both Sales and Catering; including billing, batch printing, reporting, reader board entry, guarantee calls, rooming list follow ups, client follow ups and attending catering meetings when required;
- Confirm business as required to meet assigned market, segments budgeted sales;
- Manage and convert inbound sales inquiries from all channels, pass any new leads developed through contacts to appropriate team member;
- Co-ordinate with various hotel internal departments related to book business to ensure customer satisfaction and hotel profitability;
- Assist in implementing promotional projects in assigned market areas to increase sales volume and profitability;
- Attend events and assist with organizing sales missions and blitzes when required;
- Conduct hotel tours and showcase hotel products and services;
- Assist with organizing client events and appreciation;
- Participate in business planning, strategy and tactical meetings;
- Work closely with the Catering, Front Office and Revenue Management team;
- Identify and resolve all guest concerns/complaints to ensure the brand promise is delivered;
- Understand and comply with all health and safety rules, regulations and laws. Report unsafe acts or hazardous conditions ensure department equipment is maintained and operated in a safe manner;
- The position reports directly to the Area Director of Sales & Marketing;
- Act as a health and safety leader in the property, report all workplace; incidents/accidents or near misses, wearing all Personal Protective Equipment required, and participation in fire safety plan;
- Ensure all COVID-19 Operating Protocols are followed and that the well-being of our guests and team members is always the priority;
- Perform other duties as assigned including assisting team members with their roles during peak periods or other duties as assigned by the Area Director of Sales & Marketing;
- Liaise with all supporting departments to ensure a seamless experience for our guests, ensuring our vision of passionate people creating exceptional experiences is at the forefront of every interaction;
- Attend meetings and trainings as required.

**Job Requirements**
- 2-3 years of hospitality experience or comparable sales experience, Hotel environment preferred;
- Experience managing and maintaining guest/client relationships;
- Demonstrated ability to interact in a team environment with several divisions/departments;
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, listening);
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or Business, is a definite asset;
- Strong computer skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office and Hotel Property Management Systems is a definite asset;
- Organized, results orientated, proven time management skills and ability to work under pressure;
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment maintaining composure and objectivity with guests and team members;
- Available to work nights, weekends and/or holidays as required, including occasional Manager-On-Duty shifts;
- Overtime as required;
- Working in a shared office space(s);
- Interacts/Communicates with guests, public and hotel teams
- Speak confidently in public and facilitate presentations;
- Some travel is required, including driving or flying;
- Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking during peak operation periods;
- Light to moderate level of physical effort;
- A fast paced and ever-evolving industry with high demands to perform;
- Swift strategic thinking while under pressure to execute project strategies;
- Travel as required.
