**Ascari Enoteca is looking for a Host/Server Assistant to join the team**

**Location: 1111 Queen Street East, Toronto, Ontario**

Ascari Hospitality Group is a restaurant and event company based in Toronto, Canada, named after 1950’s Formula One racing legend Alberto Ascari, who was equally famous for his appetite as he was for his talented racing.

Ascari Enoteca is a 38-seat pasta and wine bar located in Leslieville, serving handmade pastas and southern Italian dishes for nearly ten years. We are driven by our passion for food, wine, and people. We are a neighbourhood locale where people come to linger over a simple, delicious meal washed down by a superb bottle of wine.

The positions available would be 3-4 days a week, and a combination of host and server assistant duties.

**Primary Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Greet guests in a warm and genuine way.
- Manage the Open Table reservation system and waitlist.
- Know all table numbers and maintain an awareness of server sections.
- Seat guests in a timely manner and stay in communication with waiting parties.
- Coordinate with supervisor or manager on duty to ensure even spread in server sections and maximize seating abilities.
- Communicate any unique or special reservations to the supervisor or manager on duty as necessary.
- Answer incoming phone calls and address guest questions. Direct inquiries appropriately.
- Support the service and bar team to exceed guest expectations
- Ensure that service stations are fully stocked at all times
- Assist bar staff with polishing glassware as necessary
- Clear, clean, and reset tables efficiently and effectively
- Polish cutlery and plates as necessary
- Ensure accurate table and seat numbers are used when delivering food to tables
- Run drinks and food with an attention to detail and a sense of urgency
- Maintain the cleanliness of the washrooms by completing checks regularly throughout the shift.
- Other duties as assigned or required

**Skills/Qualifications**:

- At least 1 year of Hosting and/or Server Assistant experience
- Knowledge of Italian cuisine and wine an asset
- Experience working with Open Table an asset
- High attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with guests and colleagues
- Flexible availability - evenings & weekends
- Smart Serve Certification an asset
