Position Summary Key Duties & Responsibilities Community engagement and development support through cultural heritage programming and in collaboration with internal and external partners; Program development, implementation and promotion to support the MacLachlan Woodworking Museum, the Pump House Steam Museum and Kingston City Hall National Historic Site; Liaise with colleagues, summer students, schools, educators, artists and the community to co-ordinate activities and resources to ensure the expected outcomes are met for program delivery; Plan and monitor assigned budgets for programming that includes expenses for artist fees, programs supplies, and other related expenses; Document and evaluate programs and outreach using established evaluation methodologies and complete reports as required; Deliver educational tours, guided tours, demonstrations, workshops and public programming and assist with special events and exhibits; Work with student staff and volunteers and provide training and guidance to ensure consistent, quality program delivery; Other duties as assigned, including providing support for daily operations at the two City-owned museums and City Hall National Historic Site as needed. Qualifications, Competencies 3 year degree in education, history, museum studies or related field; Two (2) years progressive experience in delivering cultural and/or educational programming and community cultural engagement in schools and/or community settings; Heritage, museum, customer service and audience development experience an asset; Cultural development and community engagement experience an asset; Experience scheduling and coordinating student staff and volunteers an asset. Skills, Abilities, Work Demands Ability to work independently and in a dynamic, team oriented environment; Excellent people skills and well developed oral and written communication skills; Creativity, enthusiasm and attention to detail; Ability to be innovative and to promote public education and community cultural engagement; Strong problem solving, research and evaluation skills; Knowledge of the Ontario curriculum as well as current programs and policies in community cultural development, community arts and youth engagement; Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to work with diverse populations, including ethno-cultural and Indigenous communities as well as underserved communities; French or other languages considered an asset; Must have own transportation and a valid "G" class driver’s licence; Closing Statement Your resumé must demonstrate how you meet position requirements.
