Overhead Door Technician Helper

Calgary, Canada SIMS+MHS Full time

**Responsibilities**
- Ability to learn and gain experience in hollow steel man doors in commercial buildings or Overhead Door Installation, in both a residential and commercial setting
- capable of working alone on smaller jobs (residential installations)
- _**Valid, clean class 5 driving record**_
- Must be reliable, and have consistent work attendance
- Must be punctual
- Knowledge or experience working on doors would be considered an asset
- Intention to learn the trade
- Asks a lot of questions
- Read blueprints and follow specifications to ensure accurate completion of projects
- Takes direction and feedback and tries to improve everyday
- Must be able to work outside in all different weather conditions, including cold and extreme heat. Lifting, pulling, climbing, standing, sitting, lying down, squatting and kneeling and managing equipment and tools required
- Complete all required paperwork daily and submitted on time at the end of each work day
- i.e: timesheets, FHLA’s, job workorder with clear notes and part #’s

**Skills**
- Mechanically inclined
- Strong work ethic, a team player with a positive attitude
- Business savvy with a customer service focus
- Good customer service, communication and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable with heights (ladders & lifts)
- Able to lift & hold heavy loads (35kgs/80lbs)
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
- Strong safety mindset - willing and able to wear all required PPE including hard hat
- Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills

Pay: $20.00-$27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
