**The opportunity**

As part of the People & Culture Team (currently four people) you will be responsible for supporting recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, project work and general administration. This is a great role for someone looking to gain more generalist experience in HR and to be developed for the next level, while working with a friendly and supportive team. Your day-to-day - Assists with the operations of the People and Culture team and performs general administrative/coordinator duties

**Your day-to-day**
- Assists with the operations of the People and Culture team and performs general administrative/coordinator duties
- Assists with management and maintenance of our online performance management system and maintains employee records
- Contributes to employee relations activities, assists with events and employee programs
- Participates in the health and wellness initiatives of the firm
- Participates in P&C projects including rollout of new initiatives, policy reviews, and more

**What we’re looking for**
- One or more years of experience in HR, along with a post-secondary degree in business or HR OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficient in Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Experience with applicant tracking systems or Taleo would be advantageous
- Good customer service skills and willingness to help
- Proven ability to multi-task and manage priorities with strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Recognizes the explicit importance of maintaining employee confidence and ensures human resources information remains confidential
- Strong communication skills and command of English, both oral and written
- Aligns with Smythe values including collaboration, excellence, and progression

**You will need to**
- Attend your primary office location at least two set core days a week and additional days as needed for the role
- Occasional extra hours and attendance at events outside the regular work week
- Be able to lift up to 25 lbs
