**Title**:Early Childhood Educator

This is a part-time casual position. Some shifts may be scheduled ahead of time, but many times you may be called last minute.

**Reports to**: Centre Director

**Objective**:

- To deliver early learning and child care services in alignment with WHELC
- To carry out developmentally appropriate programming for children aged 0-12 in collaboration with children, families, and the community
- To follow the centre operational policies and procedures as specified in the Staff Handbook

**Principle Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for constant supervision, safety and well-being of the children
- Recognizes and responds to the needs of each child by using developmentally appropriate teaching and child behaviour management techniques
- Establishes and maintains regular communication with parents and co-workers
- Ensures the program operates at all times in compliance with all child care licensing standards
- Assist children with all necessary care routines (e.g. diapering, toileting, hygiene, etc.)
- Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Centre Director or her designate

**Requirements/Qualifications**:

- Early Childhood certification is an asset
- CPR/First Aid Certification is an asset
- Current Criminal Record Check
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to relate well to children, parents, colleagues and community
- Demonstrated leadership ability

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

**Salary**: $13.00-$19.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
