| About the role
The Manager, Financial Market Risk plays an important role on the Financial Market Risk team, under the CRO, and is responsible for working collaboratively on the analysis, development and operationalization of financial risk frameworks for Payments Canada’s core clearing and settlement systems focusing on Future State of Retail Batch.
| What you’ll do
**The Manager, Financial Market Risk will be responsible for**:
- Developing the business/functional requirements for the financial risk framework to support the retail payment system roadmap;
- Implementing and maintaining Payments Canada’s retail payment system financial market risk framework;
- Leading project activities and deliverables with a focus on quality, delivering within project timelines while managing project risks;
- Developing, planning, prioritizing and delivering on Payments Canada’s continued and enhanced observance of the Bank of Canada’s Risk Management Standards in collaboration with other teams;
- Promoting the rigor and credibility of the risk program and contributing by delivering high-quality analysis to support risk policy and risk management strategies in the medium to long-term.
|Minimum Qualifications
- University degree in Finance, Business, or a related field;
- Minimum eight (8) years of experience in risk management or project and product delivery in financial services;
- Knowledge of the Canadian payments industry, in particular, Canadian payments clearing and settlement systems, or banking operations;
- Strong relationship management, presentation and thought leadership skills;
- Valid criminal record check or eligibility to obtain.
|Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or advanced education in a related field preferred;
- Experience working with a Financial Market Infrastructure or other critical infrastructure provider is considered an asset.
| Salary Range
- Based on qualifications and experience: $110,160 and $137,700.
