**THE HOTEL**:
The **NEW** Hampton Inn by Hilton, Cornwall - centrally located at 1757 Vincent Massey Drive - offers 80 spacious guest rooms, a naturally
- lit flexible meeting/event space, guest laundry facilities, an indoor heated pool, and fitness center featuring Peloton equipment. Guests will enjoy a daily full hot breakfast included - in our breakfast room and will stay connected with FREE Wifi throughout.
**THE ROLE**:
**BE A PART OF SOMETHING NEW** The Maintenance Manager is responsible for all engineering/maintenance operations, including the “hands on” maintenance, cleanliness, and upkeep of the building, grounds, mechanical equipment, guestrooms, public areas, fire life safety, and utility systems are maintained in excellent condition. Accountable for managing the maintenance budget, preventative maintenance and energy conservation.
**ACTIVITIES**:
The duties of the Maintenance Manager include, but are not limited to the following:
- Performs the maintenance of (retaining and supervising contractors, as required) in the repair of plumbing, hotel rooms, A/C and heating, ice machines, swimming pool, lighting, kitchen equipment, refrigeration, laundry, emergency and fire life safety systems, switch rooms, etc.
- Ensures all maintenance and repairs are completed on a timely, cost effective basis and according to specifications.
- Orders necessary materials and tools for repairing equipment and keeps within budgetary guidelines.
- Performs and maintains ongoing preventative maintenance program for the hotel.
- Responsible for administering and documenting equipment preventative maintenance and guest room preventative maintenance.
- Responsible for the safety of the department and the building.
- Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
- Follows company policies and procedures and is able to effectively communicate them.
- Supports the General Manager in the recruitment of departments using company hiring standards (i.e. behavioral questioning, reference checks, evaluations and team interviews). Reviews performance and assists in career development.
- Conducts fire drills, training classes regarding safety, security, department procedures and service guidelines.
- Ensures hotel is in compliance with all federal, provincial and local laws, including Health and Safety, ESA, Human Rights etc.
- Ensures all fire and safety inspections are completed and any discrepancies are corrected.
**COMPETENCIES WE ARE SEEKING**:
- 3+ years progressive maintenance experience
- High School diploma or equivalent is an asset
- Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
- Effective communication and people management skills
- Quick thinking and able to spot and resolve problems efficiently
- Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, Micros, POS)
- Guest oriented and service minded with an attention to detail
- Excellent planning and organizing skills
- Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Must be able to work independently and maintain a positive attitude within a busy environment ~ hours will fluctuate, must be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, & holidays
