Part- Time Resident Attendant- Night Shift

The Resident Attendant shall provide personal care and other services to residents in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Home.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provides services and interacts with residents and resident family members in a professional manner
- Complete schedule care services required from the resident and document the completion of the assistance and care provided
- Participates as a member of the care team and provides support to the other members of the Services team; assist with feeding, toileting and ambulating residents.
- Provide routine care.
- Observes and adheres to all policies and procedures, work standards and safety regulations
- Assists and attends to care needs of the residents as required
- Maintains work and storage areas in a clean, safe and sanitary manner
- Aware of employees and supervisor’s responsibilities and follows all health and safety policies and procedures
- Works safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, co-workers, and residents
- Is alert to, remedies, and promptly reports all actual or potentially hazardous situations
- Wears personal protective equipment (or clothing) as required by task, MSDS, or home policy
- Other related duties as assigned, such as keeping resident rooms clean and tidy, folding their clothes, taking their temperature and weight
**Education/Experience**:
- Previous experience in providing personal care
- Successful completion of secondary school or equivalent
- Preferred post-secondary education in related care fields of PSW/HCA/ DSW certification
- Must be able to read and communicate effectively
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Demonstrated empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors
- Effective interpersonal relationship and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to organize work and work under strict time constraints
- Must have a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness
- Must be able to operate related equipment
- Must be able to respond to emergency situations
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift and carrying heavy items
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $17.50 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- Weekend availability

All of our staff is tested in house as per directives for COVID 19. All our staff is screened twice per shift and is provided with required PPE. The safety of our staff is key for their well being and the well being of our residents.
