Glass Inc. is a highly reputable local glass service business serving the Niagara Region and beyond, specializing in custom glass and mirror products for residential and commercial buildings. Our areas of expertise include: frameless glass showers, glass wall partitions, office partitions, vanity mirrors, mirror walls, glass guards and railings, and custom back-painted glass backsplashes.
We are seeking a committed individual to represent our business as the first face to welcome customers and to assist with tasks in the office. As our Drafting Technician, you must be very familiar and experienced with AutoCAD 2020 where you will be producing design drawings to back-up quotes, fabricating glass production drawings, shop drawings and installation drawings. Your role will also include:
- Assisting walk-in customers and answering phone calls in a professional manner
- Evaluating customer needs and helping design or improve the best solution for their space
- Completing quantity takeoffs from architectural drawings
- Creating purchase order production drawings and installation drawings
- Keeping track of orders, specialty products and general inventory
- Entering work orders and invoices
- Taking payments and handling cash
- Cleaning and organizing the showroom and shop
- Construction or Architectural Technologist Diploma or similar education
- Proficient computer knowledge, including AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to read architectural drawings and perform project takeoffs (familiarity with both imperial and metric measurements)
- Ability to perform with basic mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication
- Ability to prioritize and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, independently and as a team member
- Excellent communication skills and customer service
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong organization skills
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
