LOGISTICS COORDINATOR - 1 YEAR CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY IN MISSISSAUGA

Reporting to the Manager, Commodities Supply Chain & Administration, the Logistics Coordinator - Commodities will be responsible for commodities logistics, ensuring there is adequate supply of coffee, tea, soluble coffee and cocoa to multiple production sites while monitoring inventory coverage levels at various stages in the supply chain. This key role is responsible for the efficient communication and resolution of transportation issues within supply chain, monitoring deliveries, documenting logistics calls and maintaining accurate logs and looking for ways to optimize shipping and transportation procedures. In this fast-paced role, the Logistics Coordinator Commodities must have strong communication skills, high attention to detail, in addition to prioritization and negotiation skills with a strong customer focus.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Facilitate the timely delivery of coffee raw materials to all MPTC processing facilities based on production requirements through coordination with coffee vendors and third party logistics/warehousing companies
- Proactively look at moving containers between the different production areas to optimize supply and minimize costs
- Track the local movements of coffee raw materials resolving any situations, delays or errors that may occur, maintaining system data accuracy in the process
- Liaise between Commodities and Production Planning regarding daily/short-term coffee supply
- Facilitate local logistics in an effort to minimize storage/container demurrage charges
- Liaison between MPTC and coffee vendors and third-party logistics/warehousing companies in the event of receipt of damaged goods
- Work with vendors to ensure timely movement and approval of coffee raw materials
- Ensure general office administration and documentation is performed to allow efficient departmental workflow
- Work closely with the entire commodity team. Traffic is a critical function to the team's overall performance. Interact closely with the Commodity Buyers to support on saving projects.
- Support as needed in other areas of the Commodities and Product Development teams
- Ability to efficiently resolve issues and bring a continuous improvement mindset to process improvement

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- Post-secondary education and/or equivalent work experience required
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Supply Chain role with responsibility for inventory management, inbound/outbound logistics and carrier/broker/importer relationships
- Experience coordinating across multiple locations is an asset
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team
- Must have a high level of customer orientation
- Proactive at solving problems on own and take initiative with mínimal supervision
- Demonstrated experience participating in continuous improvement projects or processes
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Experience operating in a fast-paced & changing environment
- High proficiency with MS Office, in particular Excel
- A positive attitude and a desire to have fun
