Alberta Infrastructure designs, builds, manages and maintains government-owned and operated facilities, and collaborates with other ministries to ensure that schools, hospitals and government facilities infrastructure meet the needs of Alberta’s population. The Ministry also provides accommodation services and manages a large portfolio of owned and leased facilities while maintaining fiscal accountability and optimizing value for Albertans.

**Role Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Facilities Manager (Manager), the Venue & Facilities Coordinator (Coordinator) oversees bookings in Infrastructure-run rooms on the 10th, 11th, and basement floors of the Queen Elizabeth II Building (QEIIB). The Coordinator is the primary contact for these bookable spaces, as well as support for events held on the Legislature Grounds and in McDougall Centre, Calgary (McDougall).

The Coordinator is the direct supervisor of the Facility and Client Support positions (3-4 positions) and will be required on-site to provide cover-off for them or for VIP events, sometimes on little or no notice. The Coordinator is also the back-up to the Events Coordinator for the Legislature Grounds and helps to provide coverage for the Venue and Meeting Coordinator at McDougall. Because of this, work hours may vary and evening/weekend work may be required with the approval of the Manager. The demands of the Coordinator require that the incumbent is capable of lifting up to 15 lbs at a time, carrying up to 10 lbs, and must be able to push and pull catering carts. Lifting of chairs and tables is also frequently part of large event setup and tear down, as is being on your feet for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities include providing exceptional guest service, management of all bookings from initial inquiry to final billing, general office administrative support, and website administration. This position must demonstrate the highest level of discretion. The clientele include the government of the day and it is imperative that the individual in this position respect the confidentiality of the position.

**Qualifications**:
**Required**:

- One-year certificate in a relevant field, plus a minimum of 2 years of experience working in a related field is required.
- Related work experience includes managing bookings/calendars, shared mailboxes, and coordinating the provision of services in a fast paced environment; ordering of goods and services; processing of invoices; event management; working knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Valid class 5 drivers license

**Equivalency**:

- One year of education for one year of experience or one year of experience for one year of education

**Assets**:

- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory skills.
- Demonstrated ability to self-start and work unsupervised as required.
