Early Childhood Educator

Navera Community connections is looking for a passionate Early Childhood Educator (Level I, II, or III) to provide quality care for children ages 0-6 years old, and interact co-operatively with parents. This is a temporary full-time position (immediate until April 17, 2026) at our 90-space Early Learning Centre, Rosewood location.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Early Learning**:

- Provide physical care and engagement for children of all ages.
- Plan and implementing age-appropriate developmental activities for children.
- Observe and monitoring the development and health of children, keeping accurate individual progress records (childcare sheets).
- Work with parents to cooperatively plan for the care of their children.
- Communicate directly with specifically assigned parents in a supportive and encouraging way.
- Report children’s health and progress to parents daily and providing parents access to copies of their children’s files.
- Model behaviour that nurtures and supports healthy family living and mutual respect.
- Work in coordination with other team members to create an open and adaptive environment.
- Maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and safety of children.
- May be involved in planning and preparing children’s meals and snacks.
- Attends and contributes to staff meetings.
- May participate on internal committees or represent Navera Community Connections on external committees as appropriate.
- Understands and actively applies the mission, vision, and values and of Navera Community Connections.
- Other duties may be assigned.

**Education & Experience**:

- Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Level I, II, or III is required.
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Experience in Early Learning working with children ages 0-6.
- Food Safe Certificate is an asset.
- Experience working with a team is an asset.
- Experience working in the non-profit sector is an asset.

- Flexible to adapt readily to interruptions, changes, and shifts in tasks and circumstances, including conflict and sometimes stressful situations.

- Shows competence, respect and empathy in working with diverse and vulnerable populations and groups.

**Position Details**:

- Applicants with ECE certification will receive the wage enhancement based on their ECE level.
- In-person at the Early Learning & Family Centre (Rosewood location).
- Monday - Friday, 40 hours/week, 8 hour shifts between 7:00 am - 5:30 pm.
- Primarily work indoors, with some outside work with a group of children.
- Standing, lifting (up to 40 lbs.), bending, crouching, sitting on the floor.
- All employment offers contingent on obtaining a valid Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
