We are an expanding 12 doctor Veterinary practice with an amazing reputation in Barrie and beyond - some of our clients travel to us from as far as Sudbury Our team is actively involved in fundraising and working with The Global Alliance for Animals and People in Canada, Central America and the Caribbean. We collect food for the Barrie Food Bank, and work with numerous rescue organizations. Our awards include the 2013 International Hospital Design of the Year Award and runner-up for the prestigious Pet Plan Veterinary Excellence Awards. We are registered as a Cat Friendly Practice and our staff are trained in Fear Free handling. We are also AAHA and CVO accredited and strive to provide high-quality care. Our team prides itself in providing outstanding care to our patients and clients. We are looking for an amazing **Small Animal Rehabilitation Assistant **who thrives in a fast-paced environment where every day there is something new to learn and something fluffy to cuddle. This position is **full-time.**
**Small Animal Rehabilitation Assistant
Rehab Assistant duties:
- Assisting with rehab therapies
- Performing rehab therapies under supervision
- For example: laser therapy, hydrotherapy, therapeutic exercises, etc.
- Reception duties (answering phones, booking appointments, record keeping, invoicing, client communication and education, etc.)
- Relaying information from/to owners and Rehab Technicians
- Equipment maintenance
- Cleaning and general housekeeping
- Experience working in a veterinary clinic
- Experience with customer service
- Familiarity with Fear Free small animal restraint is considered an asset
- Solid communication skills, both when dealing with clients and interpersonal relationships
- Experience with Cornerstone is considered an asset
- Able to remain focused and calm while working in a fast-paced environment
- Good understanding of canine and feline body language
- Superior observational skills
- Be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs and be comfortable spending time working on the floor with the animals
