**Job Summary**:As a Feedlot Foreman, you will manage and oversee all aspects of feedlot operations, ensuring optimal conditions for the health and growth of livestock. Responsibilities include monitoring animal health, maintaining compliance with environmental and industry regulations, and overseeing daily operations, including staff management and facility upkeep.

**Strong leadership, knowledge of livestock care, and expertise in agricultural business practices are essential for the role.**

Job Responsibilities:

- **Cattle Management**: Oversee cattle health, nutrition, and growth, ensuring all animals are receiving proper feed and care. Work closely with veterinarians and nutritionists to develop feeding programs, vaccination schedules, and health protocols. Monitor cattle for signs of illness or stress and ensure timely medical treatment when necessary.
- **Feed Operations**: Manage the feed supply and ensure that feed rations are mixed and distributed according to cattle needs. Supervise the procurement, storage, and inventory of feed, supplements, and medications. Work with feed suppliers and nutritionists to optimize feeding practices for cattle health and productivity. Manage mill operations (Roll, bin level, maintenance, visual inspections, silage and rolling samples) providing daily supervision of processing indices.
- **Communication**: Enhance internal communication strategies to engage and inform employees. Ensure cattle owners are informed of required information in a timely manner.
- **Personnel Management**: Hire, train, and supervise feedlot staff, including pen riders, feeding crew, and maintenance personnel. Ensure that staff understand the expectations of their roles. Assign tasks and manage work schedules to ensure efficient day-to-day operations. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment for all employees. Collaborate with Human Resources on employee performance and company culture.
- **Facility Maintenance**: Oversee the maintenance of feedlot facilities, including pens, fencing, feed trucks, water systems, and equipment. Ensure regular cleaning and maintenance of feedlot areas to provide a healthy environment for cattle. Work with mechanics and contractors to ensure that machinery and infrastructure are kept in good condition.
- **Record Keeping & Reporting**: Maintain accurate records of cattle inventory, health treatments, feeding schedules, and growth performance. Prepare and present regular reports on cattle performance, feed costs, and overall feedlot profitability to upper management or owners. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to animal welfare, environmental impact, and feedlot operations.
- **Financial & Budget Maintenance**: Review and tracking expenses, working to maximize operational efficiency while maintaining profitability.
- **Environmental Management**: Implement sustainable practices and manage waste disposal in compliance with environmental regulations. Work to minimize environmental impact through water conservation, manure management, and efficient use of resources.
- **Customer & Vendor Relations**: Work with cattle buyers, sellers, and suppliers to ensure cattle quality. Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including cattle owners and feed suppliers.

Expected hours: 45 per week
