Elementary School Librarian

Kuper Academy Junior School is in search of a dedicated Librarian with the following **qualifications**:

- The ability to instruct and manage student behavior
- Have strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- A love of working with children and inspiring children to love reading

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Introduce and motivate students to try different genres of literature and different formats (i.e print, ebooks, audio etc ) through group instruction and individual guidance
- Instruct students on Dewey Decimal System, finding fictional material, caring for books
- Instruct students on research techniques as a group and individually
- Plan appropriate and effective library program for each cycle and where possible in support of curriculum
- Manage collection development, acquisitions, processing, cataloguing and inventory
- Manage the elementary library budget
- Manage materials required to run library programs and maintain the collection (i.e. labels, book coverings etc )
- Manage requests for class novels, acquisition, processing, cataloguing and inventory
- Organize parent involvement for library periods
- Organize Book Fairs
