On behalf of our client, **Focus Media Group (FMG Publishing)** who have over 40 years’ combined experience in business, advertising, marketing, publishing, and design, we are hiring **Inside Media Sales Professionals**(internally known as Content Developers) for the growing Halifax office.

Focus Media Group is the publisher of multiple international publications, with a focus on brand storytelling by helping their clients showcase their market position to a wide audience of readers across both digital and print platforms, using their own in-house industry leading design team to represent their brands accurately.

What does an Inside Media Sales Professional do?

As the core of the company, the Inside Media Sales team member is responsible for sourcing and generating content ideas for our magazine publications. This means researching various companies throughout Canada and the United States, selecting those with interesting stories and/or projects and then reaching out to have a conversation with the company’s President/CEO (our clients). The Inside Media Sales professional is expected to build relationships and rapport with clients, diving into what excites them and what makes their business successful, i.e. projects (past/current/future), their team, company history, where the company is heading, and so forth.

Inside Sales Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

- Online research, sourcing companies to potentially feature in one of the magazines, based off a chosen topic or focus.
- Cold calling companies and speaking with the key decision makers.
- Building relationships with clients.
- Taking detailed notes during calls, and inputting them into our CRM following the call.
- Tracking activities and appointments diligently, using in-house CRM and Outlook Calendar.
- Meeting daily/weekly/monthly targets.
- Participating in weekly team meetings and collaborating with teammates.

**Requirements**:

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Adaptability and strong problem-solving skills - ability to “think on your feet”.
- Excellent active listening skills.
- Ability to build rapport and collaborate with others within the company and externally.
- Experience with cold calling.
- Knowledge in Microsoft products, i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook.
- A university degree or college diploma would be considered an asset.
