**Position Summary**:
Support Staff Part-Time Casual Position

We require qualified individuals to join the School of Health & Life Sciences in the role of Simulated Participant. The position plays an important role in supporting the integration of theoretical knowledge into practice. A Simulated Participant is trained to simulate the historical, physical, and emotional features of a person with a high level of realism to create an environment that learners can buy into and practice their communication and clinical skills. Simulated Participants are hired across demographic groups (culture, age, gender) to represent and support the learning environment.

**While all applicants are welcome, at this time, hires are needed to represent the age group of the 50+ population to support current gaps in upcoming simulated practice scenarios.**

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain a productive working relationship with the School of Health & Life Sciences teams
- Keep an organized calendar of the events that you are booked for
- Review all case materials prior to training sessions and prepare questions
- Attend all training and debrief sessions
- Work in accordance with the Conestoga College Simulated Participant Program (SPP) policies and guidelines
- Participate in communication scenarios and/or clinical skills assessments
- Provide detailed constructive feedback to learners using the method you are trained for
- Act out each role as trained
- Uphold confidentiality of cases and learners performances

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to retain information and use it as needed to help learners meet outcomes of a case
- An active listener
- Reliable and punctual
- Able to work with faculty teams, learners and staff in a professional and respectful manner
- Ability to work independently
- Is self-aware and able to receive constructive feedback
- Strong computer skills and willingness to remain current with advancing computer technology
- Can follow detailed instructions and portray a role consistently
- Stamina to maintain an affect and portray a realistic persona
- Organized and can keep detailed records
