**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
The Lumber Yard Associate maintains the yard and lumber warehouse. They load and unload materials and equipment and store them in the proper locations. This is accomplished by using a variety of equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, lumber carts, etc. This position has the opportunity to move to yard lead.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Checking loads for delivery with paperwork
- Cleaning up worksites and machinery from debris
- Handle and transport materials
- Pile and move stock as needed
- Build loads for delivery
- Greet customers warmly and ensure a good customer experience
- Load and unload materials, taking all safety precautions.
- Assist customers in handling large and heavy items.
- Restock inventory when stock levels are getting low.
- Keep the yard clean and the inventory neat and orderly.
- Take all necessary safety precautions when handling freight, tools, and equipment.
- Always wear proper safety equipment including safety boots.
- Be familiar with the safe operation and maintenance of equipment, including lumber cart, pallet jack, banding machine, etc.

**Qualifications**:

- Ability to work outside in all types of weather conditions.
- Capability to safely lift/move materials weighing up to 100lbs.
- Must safely operate yard equipment and tools, including forklift, pallet jack, lumber cart etc
- Exemplary listening, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work co-operatively in a team atmosphere.
- Experience in a fast paced customer service environment
- Knowledge of building material mandatory
- Able to work effectively alone or as a team
- Forklift certification and experience is an asset.

**SCHEDULE**:

- Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
- Saturday 8am - 3pm

**EXPERIENCE**:

- Building material: 1 year mandatory
- Forklift certification and experience is necessary

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.00-$22.50 per hour

Expected hours: 18 - 38 per week
